Game types and goals
Zoomandos knows different kinds of games with different goals: from taking the enemy headquarters to holding key points. This page explains how a game is played and how it is won.
Goals - how a game is won
Defeat the enemy
The last team with animals left wins. This is always true, whatever else the game has as a goal.
Hold the flags
Flags mark points. A team that has animals within 1 tile of a flag and no enemy there holds it and scores 1 point per round. The first team to reach the target score wins.
Retrieve the flag
The flag lies in Team 1's base. The attackers pick it up by stepping on it and win by carrying it into their own base; the defenders win by defeating the carrier, all attackers, or by holding out for the round limit.
Find the flag
The flag lies hidden on one of several marked places (?). Search with your fast and far-seeing animals; whoever picks it up and carries it into their own base wins. A defeated carrier drops it where it fell. No capture until the round limit: a draw. Best played with fog of war.
Game types - how a game is played
One team after the other
Teams take turns. In your turn each animal may act once (move, then attack) as long as you have command points.
Fog of war
You only see what your animals see; forests hide animals. Moves cannot be undone in fog games.
Chess
A small board, one command per turn and one life per animal - every hit that lands is a kill.
Random maps
A new fair (mirrored) map every time, with terrain, two fords and two flags.
